If you lose a conversation to an opponent, after the conversation concludes you will earn back a few Willpower points, but regardless you’ll want to use them conservatively and wisely when you know your Skill checks will best your opponent. Each of the playable characters has their own independent Willpower bars, and the amount of Willpower they have is dependent on the skills that you invest in for them, and just on who the character is. Willpower essentially acts as mana that is used in your various conversations throughout the game. With that in mind, you can pick and choose whichever you are most interested in diving into first without fearing that you're not playing in the correct order, or that you're missing out on something. Furthermore, you can be at ease, as though certain story elements overlap, your actions in one section will not have direct ramifications on what you can/cannot experience or do in the next. You can choose at your discretion which one to tackle in which order.
